FARZANEH MILANI

Iranian author, poet, translator and educator. She teaches Persian literature and women’s studies at the University of Virginia.

Milani leads the Department of Middle Eastern and South Asian Languages and Culture. She is the author of over 100 articles, prologues, epilogues, forewords and afterwords in both Persian and English. She has presented more than 150 lectures in the United States and around the world.

In 2012, she was voted “Women of the year” by the Iranian Women Studies Foundation.
